The children present at the 2005 campmeeting were the last to climb the old leaning tree
near the Gaston and Worrell tents.
The tree which had been a focal point of play succumbed to the winds
of Hurricane Katrina a few weeks later.
Josh and Stephanie Carroll provided special for the morning
service. Josh served as the music and church leader for this
campmeeting in the absence of Bro Dave Elliott, church pastor.
Gary Jackson was the visiting evangelist for the second year. Some of the
tenters are shown after they visit with Mr. and Mrs. Jackson after a
church service.
Children enjoy the sand pile and tire swing near the Gaston tent.
Built around 1909, the Joe Robinson tent stood until the mid-1960's.
Curtis Robinson (son) and Opal Montgomery (daughter) built tents on
each side of their father's tent.
This photo was taken in the late 1940's or early 1950s behind the Curtis Robinson tent
(left) and Joe Robinson tent (right). In the photo are some of the cooks
that were hired to help with the campmeeting meals. Note the wood pile.
Wood stoves were in use until the early 1950's
This is the Red Draper tent of the 1950's and 1960's. Mrs. Draper was a
descendent of James Cork, early member of Old Lebanon congregation.
